Music
The students at Grace are in music class twice a week. Their largest performances are the Christmas Program and the Spring Concert. Preparations for both of these events begin at the start of the school year. Along with that, the students sing in church about once a month throughout the school year. Music classes consist of learning the songs, practicing choreography if needed, and studying music theory.
Student Council
The Student Council is made up of members in 5th-8th grade. They are elected to their positions in November each year and hold office for a one-year term. Students that are interested in running for Council make campaign signs and give a speech on Election Day to our 1st-8th grade classes. The students who are elected to the Council raise funds for various projects by hosting Dollar Days. These are special events where students can order a treat to go along with their lunches. Some examples are nachos, grilled cheese, pizza, and many other items as well. Over the past few years the Student Council has helped raise money for an AED machine, lockers, the school’s very first SMARTboard, Chromebooks and classroom TV’s.
PTLS
The Parent-Teacher organization at Grace works tirelessly to engage families at Grace and within the broader community to support initiatives at the school. Throughout the year, various activities include Walk for Grace, Grandparents’ Day, Muffins with Moms, Doughnuts with Dads and Pantherpalooza all bring families together to share in the educational and spiritual growth of our students.
Camp Graceland
Camp Graceland is our annual summer camp for ages 5-12 held at the Early Childhood Center. Numerous themed activities are planned every year along with outdoor sports and games, water fun, and time to kick back with a good book. Additionally, Camp Graceland is offered for days school is not in session, such as Easter vacation, spring break, Christmas break, etc. Rates are $31 for less than five hours and $41 for five hours or more.
